Boxerfest, now in its third year, has become the second largest Subaru festival in the United States. The show is dedicated to Subaru enthusiasts but also welcomes other vehicles that sport the flat / boxer style engine – including the FR-S and Porsche. It is organized by SubieEvents, the same team behind Wicked Big Meet, Big NorthWest and the Rocky Mountain Subaru Festival. Attendance this year was up 30% over last, with 3600 attendees weathering the rain to come and share their love for everything Subaru.
The show was held at FedEx Field in Landover, MD, and included an Autocross event, a judged Car Show, Exhaust Competition and a dedicated Vendor section. The Vendor section featured both manufacturers displaying product as well as vendors and retailers selling performance parts, vehicle accessories and lifestyle gear and apparel. The StopTech booth was manned by our friends at Turn14 Distribution and featured our new Street and Sport Brake pads along with a 2015 STI sporting a front and rear StopTech Big Brake kit, which brought a lot of attention to the booth. Other product on display included BRZ/FR-S braided lines, Sport Rotors and Centric Premium rotors, as well as Posi Quiet pads and STR-600 high performance brake fluid.
That STI pulled in a large amount of traffic, most people having questions regarding product and applications. The booth was also flooded with positive comments regarding StopTech and Centric components. The familiarity with Centric as a great OE option was a nice surprise. There were also tons of questions about Big Brake Kit applications and some attendees were looking for 2-piece replacement rotors for all generations of the Subaru STI OEM Brembo brakes. Perhaps there will be some news on this front in the near future.
We would like to thank Turn14 for partnering with us for Boxerfest 2016, as well as all of the customers who stopped by to check out the car, to ask about our products and to enter our raffle. In the end there were 249 raffle tickets in the running for a StopTech Axle Pack. That's quite a turnout, especially with the wet weather! Thanks again for stopping by and for sharing your experiences with StopTech and Centric!
